Galentine's Gift Ideas

Love is in the air this month unless of course you’re trying your hardest to avoid anything and everything to do with Valentine’s Day.

For anyone out there who has had enough of it, but still knows they deserve to be treated like a queen, you’ll want to know all about Galentine’s Day.

If you’ve watched the TV show Parks & Recreation, you’ll know all about the magical day where women all over the world can celebrate “ladies being ladies” without having to worry about whether the postman is coming to the post-box with cards galore. It’s also the perfect opportunity for you and your girls to get together midweek for a little bit of fun.

So what can you do this year for Galentine’s Day? Here are some gift ideas and lovely little things to do this February 13th to celebrate.

Say Cheers With A Cheeky G&T

We recently partnered with the lovely folk at ILOVEGIN for a special Valentine’s Day prize over on our UK website. Ever since we’ve fallen in love with the idea of gorgeous gin gift sets, you can gin have delivered every month to your front door.

With any Galentine’s plans that involves having a few friends around for a catch-up and gossip over a few drinks, some of their G&T combos are a must. It also makes for a fantastic surprise gift for a friend who doesn’t live close to home.

See an anti-Valentine’s movie

Forget going to the cinema to see a soppy romance when there’s a good chance the local multiplex will be showing films chock movies of girl power.

We’ve seen a few places around the country will be showing the like of Mean Girls, Legally Blonde and Sex & The City this year, so check your local cinema to see if they have anything on the go.

Of course, if they don’t, you can always rely on Netflix, a tub of ice cream and your favourite tipple for a good night in.

Don’t send roses!

Imagine a flower company telling you not to send red roses. As Galentine’s Day is all about celebrating the magic of friendship, there’s no better way of surprising your besties with a bright bouquet.

We highly recommend having a look through our amazing California collection with light roses, lovely purple lilacs and seasonal blooms that they’ll love.

Book a ladies’ dinner

When was the last time you and your besties had a proper catch-up? You might have seen them out over Christmas, but chances are you didn’t have the chance to sit down and have a good chinwag with one another.

While restaurants will be choc-a-block on Valentine’s night, with the 13th being on a Wednesday this year, you may luck into finding a good restaurant with midweeks deals and discounts.

Pop a card in the post

Are you reading this last minute? You might have missed the boat on getting your best friend a Galentine’s gift, but that doesn’t’ mean that you can’t sent a card in the post.

There’s no need to send soppy cards with hearts and kisses on them when you can send a best friend card instead. Write in it how much your friend means to you and why they’re so amazing (if you have enough space on the card). It will boost spirits a thousand times more than an anonymous Valentine’s card.

Make Galentine’s Special

No matter how you decide to celebrate, remember to make your Galentine’s special. Even if it’s your first time, it could turn in a yearly tradition of celebrating with your best friends and help give you a boost through February.
